An exhibition of heritage crafts, at The Platform Gallery, Clitheroe.
From endangered stained-glass skills to hand-crafted shoes made using centuries-old techniques, Hand & Heritage: Crafting Tradition brings together makers whose work is helping traditional crafts survive and evolve in the 21st century.
The Platform Gallery presents our latest exhibition celebrating the enduring relationship between skilled hands and cultural identity. The exhibition features an exceptional group of contemporary makers whose work demonstrates the continuing relevance of heritage craft in modern life.
Through materials including clay, fibre, wood, willow and glass, Hand & Heritage explores how generations of makers have transformed natural materials into objects that tell stories of community, history and place. The exhibition highlights both traditional techniques and contemporary interpretations, revealing how craft remains a living, evolving practice rooted in knowledge passed from one maker to another.
