About Ribble Valley Felted Friends
Ribble Valley Felted Friends is a handcrafted collection of needle-felted characters inspired by the landscapes, wildlife and heritage of the beautiful Ribble Valley.
The idea was born from countless adventures in our campervan, exploring the valleys, villages and countryside that make this area so special. Spending time outdoors, watching wildlife and discovering hidden gems has always inspired my creativity. On our travels around the UK, I noticed that every region has an iconic symbol—the Lake District has the Herdwick sheep, Scotland the Highland cow and Wales the Red Dragon. It made me wonder: what represents the Ribble Valley?
Back in my craft shed, I began bringing that question to life through needle felting. After many hours of sculpting wool, experimenting with personalities and designing costumes, Ribble Valley Felted Friends was born.
Each character is individually handcrafted using traditional needle-felting techniques, making every piece completely unique. The collection celebrates the wildlife and charm of the Ribble Valley, from sheep, foxes and owls to seasonal characters inspired by local landmarks, traditions and village life. Every creation tells its own story and aims to capture the warmth, humour and beauty of the area.
My vision is to create art that makes people smile while celebrating the place we call home. Whether displayed as keepsakes, gifts or part of local exhibitions and events, Ribble Valley Felted Friends is a joyful tribute to our countryside, encouraging people to appreciate the character, wildlife and community that make the Ribble Valley such an inspiring place to live and visit.
